LEXINGTON, Ky. (June 14, 2023) — Governor Kay Ivey signed HB 246 into law making Alabama the third state to enact the Cosmetology Licensure Compact.
HB 246 was sponsored by Representative Kenneth Paschal and Representative Ken Hassell.
The Cosmetology Licensure Compact will facilitate interstate practice for licensed cosmetologists based in compact member states. The Compact will become active once enacted by seven states.
